Electric Bicycle Rebates Coming to Kitchener
Ontario to provide funding for e-bikes in an effort to reduce emissions and promote active transportation.
The City of Kitchener is set to receive $500,000 in funding from the Ontario government to support e-bike rebates.
The rebates, which will be available to Kitchener residents and businesses, are part of the province's Electric Bike Rebate Program. The program aims to reduce emissions and promote active transportation by providing financial incentives for the purchase of e-bikes.
The Kitchener rebates will be available for both new and used e-bikes. The rebate amount will be $500 for new e-bikes and $250 for used e-bikes.
The rebates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the funding is exhausted.
Benefits of Electric Bicycles
Electric bicycles offer a number of benefits over traditional bicycles, including:
- Reduced emissions: E-bikes produce zero emissions, which helps to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Increased mobility: E-bikes can help people to travel further and more easily, which can be especially beneficial for those who live in hilly areas or have limited mobility.
- Improved fitness: E-bikes can help people to get more exercise, even if they are not in great shape.
How to Apply for the Rebate
To apply for the rebate, Kitchener residents and businesses will need to submit a completed application form to the City of Kitchener. The application form will be available on the City's website.
The rebate will be paid out in the form of a cheque. The cheque will be mailed to the applicant's address.
