Barcelona Claim 1-0 Victory Over Las Palmas

Raphinha's Header Secures Three Points

Barcelona maintained their pursuit of LaLiga leaders Real Madrid with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Las Palmas on Monday night.

After a goalless first half, the deadlock was broken by Raphinha in the 53rd minute. The Brazilian winger nodded home from close range after a pinpoint cross from Marvin Park.

Las Palmas pressed for an equalizer but were unable to find a way past a resolute Barcelona defense. The victory moves Barcelona to within two points of Real Madrid, who have played one game less.

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez was pleased with his team's performance, saying: "We knew it would be a difficult game, but we showed our quality and character to get the win."

Las Palmas manager Pepe Mel was disappointed with the result but praised his team's effort.

"We played well and created chances, but we were not clinical enough in front of goal," he said.

Barcelona will now turn their attention to the Champions League, where they face Inter Milan in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.
